In obesity, obesity-related fat accumulation and reduction in body weight are common complications of androgenetic alopecia. In the current study, we evaluated the risk and progression of overweight and obesity in androgenetic alopecia patients treated with orlistat. In a prospective study, we evaluated the efficacy and safety of orlistat therapy in a cohort of 120 obese patients with overweight or obesity in a randomized clinical trial. Orlistat dose was administered to the study population in a fixed-dose combination of 120 mg to 240 mg, and the mean weight loss was 5.6 kg. Orlistat treatment significantly increased the proportion of overweight patients in the group treated with 120 mg to 240 mg and the reduction in the overweight was 3.1% and 2.3%, respectively (p < 0.001). Weight and BMI, waist circumference, and waist-hip ratio were also significantly reduced. Orlistat also significantly reduced the incidence of type 2 diabetes in a prospective study. However, this adverse effect was not associated with the use of orlistat. Orlistat is a well-tolerated and effective option in the management of obesity and overweight in the United States. The current study concluded that the safety profile and efficacy of orlistat were comparable to that of orlistat in the management of obesity in overweight and obesity in patients who have orlistat-associated or not. Orlistat may be an appropriate and effective therapy for the reduction of the incidence of type 2 diabetes and the reduction of overweight in patients who have orlistat-associated or not.

Obesity, defined as obesity-related fat accumulation, is a serious public health problem that has been rising rapidly in the world. Obesity is associated with numerous health and physical, metabolic, and neurological consequences. According to World Health Organization (WHO), obesity is defined as the presence of at least 1 or more of the following three risk factors: BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2, BMI ≥ 30 kg/m2 or ≥ 35 kg/m2, and a BMI ≥ 28 kg/m2 or ≥ 35 kg/m2. In the United States, the prevalence of obesity-related fat accumulation is 2% in adults, with 1.5% in adolescents aged 10–19 years. The lifetime prevalence of obesity-related fat accumulation is 1% and is highest among children and teenagers aged 10–19 years.
The development of obesity is influenced by various factors, including diet, physical activity, and environment. Weight gain is a significant determinant in the development of obesity-related fat accumulation. The body's metabolism and growth are directly related to the presence of obesity and its consequences, with increased fat accumulation leading to weight loss.
Obesity has been shown to be associated with an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes and the risk of chronic malabsorption syndrome (CMS). MS is a condition that involves impaired absorption of nutrients and reduced body weight in the body. The risk of MS is associated with the presence of obesity-related fat accumulation.

Tablets like (the brand name for Orlistat) work by reducing the amount of fat your body absorbs. Ordinarily, fats are broken down during the digestion process by enzymes called lipases. Xenical prevents these enzymes from working effectively, limiting how much fat your body is able to absorb. The remaining, undigested fat is then excreted.
In contrast to Xenical, weight loss injections (or pens) work by suppressing your appetite - particularly your appetite for fatty foods. Some weight loss injections also slow the digestion process down, making you feel fuller for longer. They’re simple to use - check out our for more information.
Clinical trials have repeatedly demonstrated the effectiveness of both weight loss tablets and injections, particularly in combination with a healthy diet and lifestyle., participants using lost almost 15% of their body weight over a 15-month period.
